Paraffin section technology

The basic process of paraffin sectioning method is to first wash, dehydrate (with increasing concentration of ethanol, etc.), transparently (with xylene, etc.), soak wax (with Paraffin), then embed the tissue into wax blocks with paraffin, and then slice and dye the fixed tissue to make sections. The whole process of paraffin section generally takes 24 hours. By using the automatic dehydrator and embedding machine, the paraffin section can be programmed and operated automatically, which greatly improves the production efficiency. Paraffin quick section diagnosis usually takes about 30 minutes to prepare the section and send out the report. But the slice quality of this method is not as good as that of conventional slice, so it is usually only used when necessary.
